Hey Tennis Freaks,
Is it just me, or is the week between Christmas and New Year’s the weirdest time to be a tennis player?
You’re half-full of holiday food, you don’t know what day it is, and you’re probably staring at your tennis bag wondering if 2026 is the year you finally get it right.
I’ve spent this "limbo week" spiraling down an equipment rabbit hole...
If you saw the latest video, you know I’ve spent the last four years bouncing between frames. I thought I was looking for more power, then more control, then more "feel." But looking back, I realized I wasn't just switching racquets, I was switching identities.
The ChatGPT Experiment
Yesterday, I took it a step further. I asked ChatGPT to analyze my game and recommend a "rare" frame. Something I’d usually never touch.
The result? I’m currently holding a racquet I never thought I’d play with.
It’s tempting to think that the "perfect" gear will fix the "Singles Messing With Me" (which I opened up about last week). But here is the raw truth I'm coming to terms with:
Your racquet is a tool, not a cure. If you're switching frames to find 'confidence,' you're looking for a mental fix in a piece of graphite.
What I’ve Learned About The "Switch"
If you’re thinking about changing your racquet, strings, or even your shoes this week, ask yourself these three "Authenticity Checks" first:
Are you blaming the tool for a tactical error? (Did you lose because of the racquet, or because you played the "Opening Phase" with zero information?)
Is the "honeymoon phase" lying to you? Everything feels great for the first 20 minutes. The real test is how it feels at 4-4 in the third set.
Is it fun? Sometimes, we switch gear just to keep the spark alive. And you know what? That’s actually a valid reason.
I’m going to be testing this "Rare" frame all week. I might love it, or I might look like a fool for listening to an AI. Either way, I’ll show you the results.
See you on the court,
Cade & Chris
P.S. Hope you’re enjoying the last few days of 2025. Whether you’re hitting the courts to burn off the turkey or just resting the knees before the January 1st "New Year, New Game" rush, we appreciate you being part of this.
P.P.S. If you got some holiday cash and are looking to splurge, our friends at Tenniszon, ReString & Toroline are still running the MPTENNIS discounts. Treat yourself before the season starts back up. 👉 [Grab the gear you actually need for 2026 here]
